Club Update: July 31, 2020
Looking ahead at Hilo Yacht Club.
Longer hours, swimming pool reopening, a new lunch, appetizer and dinner menu, French Onion Soup and Prime Rib return.
August 1st will be the start of the Phase Four Plan, which brings HYC very close to pre COVID-19 operations. Besides the pool and bathhouse reopening,
we are introducing an exciting new dinner menu and expanding operating hours.
You can find the new menus at the bottom of this email.
Hilo Yacht Club will be open from 6 AM to 8 PM, Tuesday to Saturday, with numerous dining options available from 11 AM to 8:00 PM.
On Sunday and Monday, the property and athletic facilities are open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and dining is available from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Remember you receive a ten percent discount if you call ahead and make a reservation. Prime Rib is back on Friday and Saturday.
The swimming pool opens on August 1st.
The repairs are finished and the pool will be open on Saturday, August 1. Hawaii Health Department rules require us to restrict attendance to 20 people at a time inside the pool fence area. In order to accomplish this, we require members to make advance reservations. Call Cheryl at the HYC office, 969-6663 X 7 during business hours to reserve your day and time. Currently, the pool is for Members only. We are looking forward to having members once again enjoying our beautiful swimming pool!

If you have been off-island or don’t feel well, please stay home.
Don’t share food or beverages with anyone outside of your family.
Masks are required from your vehicle to your destination, i.e. dining, tennis, volleyball, etc.
You must wear a mask to enter the HYC building and grounds. If you don’t have one, we’ll give you one.
Hand sanitizer is supplied and its use required.
Guests may be asked to fill out a brief COVID questionnaire.
Users of athletic facilities must sign a COVID liability waiver. This includes the swimming pool.
Groups larger than ten people are not allowed.
Social distancing is required.
Please note: PPE requirements are not optional, they are mandated by the Board of Trustees and the Hawaii Department of Health. If you or a member of your party violate these rules, you not only endanger yourself, other members, and our staff, you may be responsible for the Health Department closing your Club. Please don’t be that person! Let’s all work together to keep Hilo Yacht Club open, safe, and fun for all our members!
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Chuck and all the HYC staff.
